California Current Ecosystem Long Term Ecological Research (LTER)
Scripps Institution of Oceanography, University of California, San Diego,  La Jolla California, 92093-0218

Welcome to the California Current LTER’s Teachers at Sea Experience,  where you’ll meet biologists, geochemists, ecologists, physicists, and marine scientists working in a coastal upwelling biome called the California Current Ecosystem – one of the most productive ecosystems in the world’s oceans. Teachers were given video cameras, digital cameras, computers and blogs where we asked them to document their adventures, in real time, so you can follow their research, ask questions, and share in their discoveries as they occur. This gives you an up close and personal look at the research at sea through the thoughts and experiences of the teachers working alongside the scientsits. We’ll post their photos, videos, and blogs on this site.

The adventure begins at the Nimitz Marine Facility in San Diego, California on September 30th, 2008 and will continue until October 29th, 2008.   Join us and see what it’s really like to be a marine research scientist at sea!
