The California Current Ecosystem LTER Information Management (IM) component provides core data and information management services in addition to supporting various scientific, outreach and LTER network needs through the continued development of a comprehensive information management environment. Our primary goals include (1) providing well documented, quality data to the public in a timely manner, (2) continuing to develop a data system that provides effective access to core site and related data, (3) providing support for site science through flexible and innovative data product development and access and (4) maintaining a data and information management that ensures long-term stability and integrity.
Additional systems: FileFinder is an application for indexing large and more complex file collections and provides an interface for searching, packaging and downloading data. FileFinder permits access to CCE’s processed Moving Vessel Profiler (MVP) data. In addition, the Cooperative Zooplankton Dataspace is home to two applications for querying, plotting and downloading data from two extensive zooplankton and euphausiid collections, ZooDB and the Brinton and Townsend Euphausiid Database (BTEDB), in addition to the SIO Pelagic Invertebrates Collection and other resources pertinent to marine zooplankton.
The data available here are intended for scholarly use by the research community, with the express understanding that data users will properly acknowledge the originating investigator. Data from CCE LTER data systems were supported by NSF Grants NSF/OCE-04-17616 and NSF/OCE-10-26607.
Our goal is to release the long-term datasets associated with core research within 2 years of collection. Data together with their metadata will be available for download from our website. Other datasets relating to site research are prioritized and released as support permits.
Please contact, James Conners, the CCE LTER Information Manager for questions about accessing or submitting data to the CCE LTER data system.
